Friend-Dick told his Musical-Director …”Dennis, “I thought you were the VALET in that ORANGE-ODOT-OUTFIT!”
CLEVELAND’s record HIGH temperature was 104 degrees, set on June 25, 1988.
DICK GODDARD THE METEOROLOGIST … was covering the HEAT WAVE.
DICK GODDARD THE FRIEND … came to HURON HOSPITAL in support of Dennis doin’ duty … chemo-wise, that is.
PATIENT-DENNIS’ record HIGH temperature was 106.1, set later during this hospital stay. It’s why Oncologist Hoon Park … had him packed in ice … with a Code Blue Cart closeby. DC survived.
BUT, ’bout these pics … taken earlier in the day. Dennis had his heavy Winter parka on … because he was COLD. All due to reactions to some new-at-the-time … fresh-out-of-FDA-class … CHEMOS. It was another treatment that Dr. Park advised him to take. DC survived. (BTW it’s why we both later agreed to become LSA Trustees … so we could support Leukemia Research).
What a Heat Wave. What a trip. What a Forecaster. What a Friend.
