2026 … Memo from … The Department … <\/strong>of …  “Better late Than Never” ….  <\/strong><\/p>\n

The 1989<\/strong> Prophecy was written by Lou Kassouf, then a neighbor of ours in this community we live in called “North Hill”. She noted that she wrote it … after Dennis had played piano for a neighborhood “Gathering” she hosted. To explain, when we moved here … back in late September of 1986<\/strong>, we hadn\u2019t met any<\/em> of the many<\/em> neighbors … (there are 65 houses<\/em> in this community). We were busy, wanting to be ready for Winter. Soon it was 1987<\/strong>. Spring and Summer saw us busy with playing engagements, etc. Then on November 21, 1987 … Dennis began his battle with Cancer. It was a long first engagement with the enemy … 32 days in Huron Road Hospital. But, on the Night before Christmas Eve … he came home weak but victorious … for he was in remission. He had chemo treatments over ’88, ’89 … including an experimental consolidated one. Then it was decreed that Dennis beat Leukemia -type AML. Thanks goes to the good Lord … and … Oncologist Dr. Hoon Park. (Sadly, just a year ago Dr. Park passed from Cancer. But, his memory is a Blessing).  <\/em><\/p>\n

It was much later … after … “coming out of the woods” … that we learned many in this North Hill community of 65<\/strong> homes … had prayed for Dennis. We were told … whatever their their Faith … Spiritual traditions … many prayed for “the new-neighbor-jogger\u201d.<\/em> \"\"<\/p>\n

The Backstory … about the above … is “fleshed out” below … by Writer Liz <\/strong><\/p>\n

So when Lou and her husband invited us to that “gathering”<\/em> at their home … we both thought at the very least … “we should show up”. When Pianist-Dennis spotted Lou’s living room piano … he felt moved to make music … a Joyful noise, (if you will). It was!  <\/p>\n

It’s interesting to note that  … although<\/strong><\/em> Lou would daily drive pass our home … on the way to her home <\/em>… she chose to mail her letter<\/em><\/strong>. Luckily for us … Lou did that. Why?  As one can see it was postmarked … and the date? VALENTINE’s DAY, 1989<\/strong>. When Dennis went to our mailbox … he picked it out … opened it … and read it. Later, he told me he thought it was a Valentine poem<\/strong> (from Neighbor Lou). He brought it in … set it down. Unbeknownst to us … someone placed it with our other<\/em> Valentines.<\/p>\n

To explain … I have many vintage Valentines from my dear late mother-in-law … who kept her childhood ones. (We feel Blessed to be curators of vintage sheet music, too). <\/p>\n

Somehow all the V-Day 1989<\/strong> stuff was placed in the bench of the piano that we had at the time … a BABY GRAND. Then in 1991<\/strong> … came … our BIG CONCERT GRAND. It’s A 9 FT.  CONCERT GRAND … SOHMER PIANO made in 1904<\/strong> … (and everyone feels the good vibrations that “she” still makes). Well, while moving the contents of the BABY GRAND’s bench … to the BIG CONCERT GRAND … we found the 1989<\/strong> Prophecy. <\/p>\n
